DocuSign Connector User Guide
Overview
The Syncly DocuSign Connector allows users to securely access and import documents from DocuSign into CoCounsel. Before users can access documents, a system administrator must first make the connector available within the platform. Each user must then authorise the connector using their own DocuSign credentials.
Administrator Setup
Make the DocuSign Connector Available
- Navigate to the CoCounsel Connectors screen.
- Select New Integration.
- Choose DocuSign from the list of available connectors.
- Enter a meaningful name for the connector.
- All other details are pre-configured.
- Click Add Connector.
The DocuSign connector will now be available for users within the platform.
Connector Configuration
When adding the connector, the following values are pre-configured:
- Connector Type: DocuSign
- Authentication Model: Authorization Code Grant
- Client ID: Pre-configured
- Secret Key: Pre-configured
- Redirect URI: Pre-configured
- Refresh Token Lifetime: Pre-configured
- Server Address: Pre-configured
Note: These settings are automatically populated and do not require modification.
User Authorisation
Each user must authorise the connector before they can access documents from DocuSign.
Authorise the Connector
- Navigate to the Connectors screen.
- Locate the DocuSign connector.
- Open the three-dot menu next to the connector.
- Select Authorise.
- You will be redirected to the DocuSign login page.
- Sign in using your DocuSign credentials.
- Review the permissions request and approve access.
Once authorisation is complete, you will be automatically redirected back to CoCounsel and the connector will be available for use.
Using the Connector
After authorisation, documents can be imported into either a CoCounsel chat or a CoCounsel Database.
Import Documents from DocuSign
- Open a CoCounsel Chat or CoCounsel Database.
- Select Attach.
- Choose Files from External DMS.
5. Select DocuSign as the connector source.
6. Browse and select one or more documents. Click Add.
The selected files will be uploaded and made available within CoCounsel.
Troubleshooting
Unable to sign in to DocuSign
Verify that:
- Your DocuSign credentials are correct.
- Your DocuSign account is active.

✅ Create a new DocuSign integration from the Connectors screen
✅ Provide a connector name and add the connector
End User
✅ Authorise the connector using DocuSign credentials
✅ Use Attach → Files from External DMS → DocuSign
✅ Select documents and click Add
The imported documents are then immediately available for use within CoCounsel.
